To cope with the strenuous import of excess solar, Ausgrid will be implementing a two-way price for solar export, charging customers for solar export between 10am-3pm and paying customers between peak hours of 4pm-9pm, as of July 2024.

10am-3pm: 1.2c/kWh charge

4pm-9pm: 2.3c/kWh credit

Ausgrid will implement a “free threshold” for electricity injections into its network between 10am-3pm, allowing a specific amount of electricity to be sent without incurring charges. The quantity permitted fluctuates monthly, typically falling between 192 kWh and 212 kWh.
